About Scabper Lotion

Scabper Lotion is a medication primarily used to treat parasitic skin infections, particularly scabies and head lice (pediculosis). The main active ingredient in Scabper Lotion is Permethrin (usually 5%). Permethrin is an antiparasitic compound that belongs to the class of pyrethroids.

Uses and Benefits

Scabper Lotion is highly effective in treating scabies, a contagious skin condition caused by tiny mites that burrow into the skin, leading to intense itching, redness, and rash.

It paralyzes and kills the mites and their eggs, providing relief from symptoms. It also treats infestations of head lice, which attach to the scalp and cause irritation.

How it Works

Permethrin works by acting as a neurotoxin to the parasites. It targets their nervous system, leading to paralysis and eventual death of the mites (and their eggs) that cause scabies and head lice. 

How to Use

Scabper Lotion is for external use only. The exact dose and duration of treatment should be advised by your doctor. One application is often sufficient, but a second application may be needed after 7 days if symptoms persist or new mites appear.

Precautions and Warnings

Do not use Scabper Lotion if you are allergic to permethrin, chrysanthemums, or any other pyrethroids. Not recommended for infants below 2 months of age. Use with caution in children and adolescents, and only under medical supervision.

While generally considered safe, it’s advised to consult a doctor before using it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Use with caution if you have other skin conditions like eczema.
